Encryption everywhere
Every piece of personally identifiable client information (names, dates of birth, account numbers, Social Security numbers) is encrypted at the field level before it ever touches disk, using per-client encryption keys so one firm's data can never be decrypted with another firm's key.
Data in transit is protected with TLS across every connection, from the browser to our servers and between every internal service.
Access controls that match how firms actually work
Every advisor signs in through enterprise-grade authentication with support for single sign-on. Access is scoped by firm and by team, so an advisor only ever sees the households they're actually assigned to.
Sessions expire automatically after a period of inactivity, and every session has a hard ceiling regardless of activity, so a lost laptop or an open tab doesn't become an open door.
Data isolation by design
Finnec runs on a database architecture with row-level security enforced at the database itself, not just in application code. That means client data is walled off firm by firm at the deepest layer of the system, so a bug in one part of the app can't leak data across firms.
Audit trails that hold up
Actions that matter, like a certified valuation or a finalized report, are recorded in append-only audit logs that can't be edited or deleted after the fact, even by us. If a firm ever needs to show exactly what was reviewed, by whom, and why, years later, that record exists and hasn't been touched.
Built with compliance frameworks in mind
Our security program is designed around SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria and maps to ISO 27001 controls, so the safeguards we run aren't ad hoc; they follow an established audit framework.
